Good news for those who’ve been missing giant transforming robots lately: The new trailer for this summer’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon premiered last night during the Super Bowl, and the very cool new Transformers Prime cartoon returns to The Hub starting this Friday afternoon. Like any good Transformers property, Prime has a whole slew of toys connected to it, and we have an exclusive reveal of one of them, the Autobots’ female robot warrior Arcee. She is one of several Deluxe Class Transformers Prime toys — along with other longtime favorites such as Bumblebee and Starscream — that will be unveiled by Hasbro this weekend in New York City at Toy Fair. While Transformers toys have been a staple in boys’ toy boxes since the 1980s, Arcee is cool for geek girls of all ages because she’s been the most prominent of all female Transformers over the years — she first appeared in the animated Transformers movie that hit theaters in 1986, and also popped up on the big screen again — albeit briefly — in Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen in 2009. But Arcee has found renewed popularity among fans on the Prime series, and her toy looks fittingly neat, in both robot form as well as in her sleek motorcycle mode. Arcee and the rest of the Prime toys will be available on Oct. 1 and retail for about 12 bucks. Also, check out Arcee and her fellow robots in disguise in this promo for the season premiere of Transformers Prime on Friday.

Actually thats not expensive at all. I was just at the store a couple days ago and the TF toys were 12 bucks. So actually im pretty glad that they’re not making it more expensive. Now just to find the price of the entertainment pack!

Actually, that’s kinda sorta expensive for TF toys. Ya know? Usually they go for 10-11 dollars but this is a dollar bumped up. Not that care that much, just a little side note.

@Neil Hill: This was part of their marketing strategy. Hasbro claimed that this show could be a hit without the toy tie-in, that the characters themselves were enough to power the network and thus the delay in releasing any product. I think it’s a smart move on their part; this could very well prove that Transformers as a franchise has grown from simply being a kid’s toyline and is worthy of respect like Star Wars or Star Trek.

Love the design but I’m curious: is there going to be a Jack figure with her? They have to incorporate the humans in this line somehow; my TF:P Bumblebee wouldn’t look the same without a little Raf to pal around with him. ;)

OCTOBER?! TFormers: Prime will be practically in Season 2 by the time we get toys from the show??? Talk about someone at Hasbro deserving to have their head chopped off for this obvious missed opportunity to sell more product. Who *didn’t* think that designs from the show weren’t likely to sell, and not just to fanboy geeks and Tformers gear heads but to kids just now rediscovering the property through the animated program? Here’s a marketing plan Hasbro. Make toys that at least somewhat correspond to the mega-popularity of the show, movies, etc., so that they coincide on shelves instead of being practically like ships passing in the night!

Very slick look, that figure has. Looks pretty close to what’s shown in the series. Very nice.
